How to Apply

If you or someone you know is interested in the BuildingWorks Pre-Apprenticeship training, please consider these questions…

  • Are you interested in a career that involves physical labor?
  • Are you willing to start work at 6:00am?
  • Are you willing to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship program?
  • Are you at least 18 years old?
  • Did you graduate from High School or receive a GED?
  • Are you in possession of your original High School Diploma or GED certificate?
  • Are you legally eligible to work in the U.S.?
  • Are you able to prove your work eligibility with appropriate documentation?
  • Are you in possession of your original social security card?
  • Do you have a valid (not expired) state ID, or a valid U.S. passport?
  • Are you available to attend an unpaid 12-week training, during the day, Monday through Friday?

If can answer YES to all questions, then the BuildingWorks training may be for you.

There are several steps to the application process:

  1. Complete the application in full and provide all required documentation.
  2. Take the entrance examination and score at 8th grade level or above in reading and math to remain in consideration.
  3. Participate in an evaluation process that includes an individual and group interview.

You must apply in person at one of our community partner application sites.  Contact us for a list of locations.  You cannot apply online.

Completion of the application, participation in an orientation, interview or testing does not guarantee acceptance to the BuildingWorks training. Only a limited number of applicants may be accepted for each training cycle.

We currently have no trainings scheduled for the remainder of 2017.
