  • National Apprenticeship Week 2021 (Nov 15-21) (11/16/2021) - The NYCDCCTC will be celebrating this year's National Apprentice Week with some special guests from Turner construction. We will be rolling out our Diversity and Inclusion Training and also training the apprentice this wee on A-Frame safety training to bring a better awareness of A-Frame accidents of the rise and focus on proper usage and safety when using these types of equipment.
  • NYC Carpenters’ Newest Programs Help Women Succeed on the Job (10/26/2021) - "Last month, the NYCDCC went further, launching its new Inclusion and Diversity program. Key elements of the program include: promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace; participating in active caring; and preventing sexual harassment, racism, and bias."
  • Annual Charity Softball Tournament/Family Picnic This Saturday (9/25)! (9/24/2021) - his is a reminder that the NYCDCC Family Picnic and Softball Tournament is happening this Saturday (September 25th) at Cunningham Park in Fresh Meadows, Queens, beginning at 9:30AM. Additionally, the NYCDCC Benefit Funds will have a Benefits Fair beginning at 10:00AM.

  • August is National Immunization Awareness Month (8/2/2021) - Every year, local and national health officials such as the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”) and the New York Department of Health (“NYDH”) observe August as a time to recognize the importance of staying up-to-date on your vaccinations. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, the message is more important than ever.
  • Masks Required at CTC – Effective 7/26/21 (7/23/2021) - Due to recent rises in COVID-19 cases, and in an abundance of caution, beginning Monday, July 26, 2021, all staff will be required to wear a mask when in common areas of the 9th Floor and the CTC. This requirement extends to all Apprentice and any Journey Level members who come to the CTC for classes.
  • Mandatory Union Activity Is Resuming For Members (7/22/2021) - Members who were credited with serving Union Activity with the NYCDCC between Jan. 1, 2020 and March 20, 2020 will receive credit for 2021. All other members who work 99 or more hours in the jurisdiction of the NYCDCC will need to perform union activity for the NYCDCC by Thursday June 30, 2022.

  • UBC International Training Center Mandatory Vaccination Policy (6/9/2021) - Jobsite safety is the UBC’s number one priority, and part of jobsite safety is getting vaccinated when it becomes available to you. All members should be aware that the UBC International Training Center has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy for anyone who is attending any program or training.

  • Notice: Mandatory Apprentice Classes (9/3/2020) - Starting August 31,2020 Classes at the New York City Carpenters Training Center, Mandatory Apprentice Classes are starting back up. All staff at the CTC have been working hard preparing for this Official Restart. We will be following the City, State, and CDC Guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy. Social Distancing, Face Coverings, Hand Sanitizing, Health Screening, Temperature checks and Gathering Limits are all part of our Health and Safety protocol.
  • COVID-19 Guidelines For CTC (7/17/2020) - The following mandatory procedures are in place to protect members and staff against COVID-19. These guidelines must be followed at all times in the Carpenters Training Center building.
  • New Skill Added to OWL: Overhead Crane Operator Certification (7/2/2020) - Must be a UBC member in good standing with their local union, current Certified Rigger and Signaler (CRS), current Overhead Crane Operator Medical Verification Form required for OCCO and recommended NCCCO, current Gas Turbine Qualification and must be at least 18 years old. Candidates will attend a full 2-day hands-on practical skills assessment and a knowledge-based written test examination.
